All four choirs continue where possible throughout school holidays though it is always worth checking beforehand if it is your first visit. Please don't hesitate to get in touch or simply turn up if you want to give it a try. Each session costs just £5.50 on the day you attend and once you have paid you can also attend any of the other 3 sessions that week for free. You do not have to pay for any missed sessions.

The choir repertoire encompasses high brow, low brow and anything in-between. In the last 5 years we have sung a massive range of material, from moody Nick Cave or Agnes Obel songs to selections from musicals, unusual British folk songs, commissioned compositions and cheeky French madrigals to African gumboot chants. We kick off the Sunday morning event each year at Maverick Festival with our Gospel sets and really enjoyed adding Folk East to our boutique festival experience this summer. We have performed variously with Gwyneth Herbert, Charlie Dore (on both her latest album tours), and professional opera singers at Snape Maltings, and recorded at the beautiful Low Farm Studios with immense thanks due to Trevor Jones for all his time and patience! We have also performed flash mobs for John Lewis and sang a specially commissioned piece for the unveiling of a new Antony Gormley sculpture as part of the national Landmark Trust Golden Anniversary celebrations last spring. Further afield we have sung Carmina Burana and the Mozart Requiem at the Royal Albert Hall as part of The Really Big Chorus for charity and some of our members represented the choir singing chorus in Faust with the Swansea City Opera on their tenth anniversary tour and La Boheme the following year.

It’s really all about the sense of achievement, community and fun to be had from singing together.

We are always happy to have new members. Just get in touch via Admin@therabblechorus.co.uk  or turn up to a rehearsal.
